Mylene C. Young

Mylene Young is a dynamic leader with decades of international hospitality expertise focused on increasing top line hotel revenue and profit, deployment and implementation of technology solutions, recommendations for revenue optimization and cost control improvement, measuring business performance and ROI. Mylene has held a broad range of roles in revenue management, sales & marketing, finance, operations and acquisitions that enable her to contribute to companies on a highly strategic level.

Career Highlights

Mylene Young joined Sonesta Hotel Corporation in 2005 as Corporate Director of Revenue. In that role, she implemented a revenue management platform and led the development and deployment of revenue technology systems to increase overall revenues and maximize profits.

In 2012, Young became Corporate Director of Acquisitions and Development, position that she held up to 2014. She was subsequently responsible for acquisitions underwriting, due diligence, financial projections, market analysis, hotel valuation and development.

Prior to joining Sonesta Hotel Corporation, Young was the Director of Revenue for the Boston Harbor Hotel, a Hilton Corporation hotel at that time. Prior to Boston, she was the Regional Manager of Revenue Analysis for Marriott International offshore resorts, responsible for the revenue management strategies and analysis for Marriott and JW Marriott in Mexico. Her past experience allows her to shift her style and work with the pace/needs of various cultures.

In addition to her revenue management experience, Mylene has ten years of experience with Hilton International in England, Canada, the Bahamas, USA, and Tunisia. For more than seven of these years, she was Director of Sales and Marketing and opened the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau Bahamas and the Windsor Hilton in Canada. She was Area Business Process Specialist for Hilton International regional sales office, responsible for the Fidelio software sales & marketing implementation and training.

Ms. Young has earned a BA of Business Administration from the University of Quebec Montreal (UQAM), a Certificate in Marketing and Communication from the Lausanne Hotel School in Lausanne, Switzerland; a Certificate in Advanced Operational Analysis, and an Advanced Certificate in Real Estate and Hotel Investments from the Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration.

Young has spoken at industry events and in university settings, including IDeaS Global Conference, Cornell University and SAS Webcast, Fisher College in Boston, MA and Lafleche College in Quebec, Canada. She also contributed to articles on revenue management with Duetto and IDeaS RMS.
